The event

Project FLOW 26 is a downwind foil freestyle exhibition organised by WA Foil Association Inc. and directed by Hugh Mitchell (The Foil Project). One rider on the course at a time, filmed by drone, with the judges and the crowd on the beach watching every turn. The best of it lands on the big screen a few days later.

Divisions

Pro: 10 places for women, 10 for men and 5 for juniors, selected by the committee from a 60 to 90 second continuous, UNCUT video submission. Punter: open to amateur riders who want to get amongst it. Entry is $50 for either division.

The course

The on-water day runs 2:00–6:00 pm at Cottesloe Beach: a course of around 750 m from the NW corner of the Cottesloe shark net to North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club, one rider at a time. The course is marshalled with jet ski water safety support, with a doctor and a critical-care paramedic on site throughout. WAFA runs a leave-no-trace event, so no single-use plastics.

Screening & awards night

Camelot Outdoor Cinema, Mosman Park, on Wednesday 25 November 2026. The runs go up on the big screen under the stars, then the awards. Tickets are $25 per person, on sale closer to the date.
